Thank you for this picture. Jock Dawson was very active in Scouting for Cambridge District and County. He was awarded the Silver Wolf, the highest recognition available and rare. His wife, Lettice, gained the Silver Acorn. The Hadstock Mounted Scout troop was unique for its time. For all that I have not located any good Scouting portraits of him in uniform or actively Scouting.
Thanks for your comment. Patricia Croxton-Smith who still lives in Hadstock worked for him for many years in the White House, Hadstock and provided the Hadstock Society with the series of pictures of the mounted scout troop. I was unaware of Jock and Lettice’s awards and will add the information to the archive.
