A Thermal Imaging Camera is very similar to a normal digital camera except it is designed to measure infra red radiation as a direct measure of the temperature of an object. It provides images which show areas of reletively high or low temperatures when used to image a property. Using this technology it is possible to identify areas of high heat loss within a property and target remedial actions to reduce heat loss and high energy consumption.
The Sustainable Hadstock project has procured a Thermal Imaging Camera for use by anyone within Hadstock. Should you wish to use the camera please use the contact details above. Images can be downloaded simply to a Windows PC for local use. There is no obligation to share images with the Sustainable Hadstock project team.
Further background information and details about how best to use the camera has been provided by Dr. Chris Dodge, Saffron Walden Community Energy. See Thermal Imaging – how to use the camera and interpret thermal images
